I’ve updated my Pixel 6a and Pixel 7a to android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 and i tried new features and found 3 new exciting features.There are some bug fixes too.
New Features of Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1
The update rolled out with build number-AP11.231020.013.A1.
The 8 and 8 Pro build numbers-AP11.231020.014
Here are some new features of this update.
Screen Recording-More privacy added
While screen recording you can select the specific apps which you want to record.Now after selecting the app you can start recording.Only the particular app you’ve selected will be recorded, the rest of the activity will be deleted while processing the recording.
This feature helps a lot for most of the creators and users to hide their sensitive data.
Screencast only specific app
Now you can screencast only specific apps for example if you want to cast only photos app you need to select the specific app option out there and the moment you start casting only the selected app will be shown and if you go back on your phone the screen will be paused and will be resume when you get back to the app.
This helps more while presentations and meetings to hide sensitive data on large screens.
Use your pixel as Webcam
With this update you can now use your pixel as a webcam.Just connect the pixel to laptop or Pc and select the connection as Webcam and you’ll see the setup webcam option.
0.5x,1x and 2x are supported and you can use the front cam too.
This adds high quality to meetings as every laptop gets a very bad webcam.
Bug fixes of Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1
- Fixed an issue that caused the package manager to crash when installing some apps. (Issue #303849830)
- Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented users from submitting feedback using the Android Beta Feedback app. (Issue #307592531)
- Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented a device from connecting to a 5G network when it was available. (Issue #306294357)
